World Geology (ISSN 1004-5589 / CN 22-1111 / P) was first published in 1982 by the former Changchun College of Geology. It is currently supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the International Centre for Geoscience Research and Education in Northeast Asia, Jilin University. Professor Sun Fengyue, a renowned expert in mineral deposit geology, serves as the editor-in-chief. It is a highly influential academic journal in geosciences and was recognized as the Key Magazine of China Technology in 2004. The journal's target audience includes a broad range of geoscience researchers, undergraduate students, and graduate students. It focuses on reporting fundamental theoretical research and applied research results in the scope of Geosciences, prioritizing the publication of cutting-edge, innovative, and pioneering research outcomes. By the end of 2024, World Geology had published 43 volumes. The main columns include fundamental geology, mineral deposits, energy geology, hydrogeology, environmental geology, engineering geology, geophysics, engineering technology, and testing techniques. It aims to follow the frontiers of geoscience, promptly reflect new discoveries, theories, and development in global geosciences, and promote the advancement of Geoscience.
