Abstract:
The grain- size analysis of sandstone of the Lower Permian Sanmianjing Formation was conducted when the authors were undergoing the 1�� 500 00 regional geological survey in Xiaojianchangyingzi area of Yuanbaos- han in Chifeng�� Inner Mongolia�� The results show that the discriminal value of Sahu for the environment is 10. 66 �� 10. 76��which indicates fluvial or deltaic facies�� The Freedman value indicates continental river sand deposition�� Turbidity C- M diagrams show the depositional environment is between deltaic and turbidite deposition�� Therefore�� the Sanmianjing Formation is composed mainly of fluvial- delta front slump turbidite fan deposits�� The slump turbi- dite fan is normally developed in deep and semi- deep lake area�� Combined with the missing of the marine carbonate strata in this area��the Sanmianjing Formation is considered to be formed in fluvial- lacustrine deltaic environments�� |
