Soil geochemical characteristics and ore-prospecting direction in Shaxilate area,Inner Mongolia

Abstract: Shaxilate area is located in the middle segment of the metallogenic belt of Da Hinggan Mountain. In order to provide ore-prospecting direction, the 1:10 000 soil geochemistry survey in the study area has been undertaken.Single element anomaly, composite anomaly and factor analysis are used to evaluate the soil geochemical data. The single element anomaly shows that Ag, Pb, Zn and Sn elements have large scale strong anomaly. Composite anomaly delineates four anomalies which are divided into two types:Ag-Au-As-Sb anomaly and Bi-W-Pb-Zn-Sn anomaly. All the elements fall into five groups in factor analysis. Thereinto, F1 factor is composed of Ag-Au-As-Sb elements and F2 factor consists of Pb-Zn-Sn elements. On the basis of soil geochemical anomaly characteristics and ore-forming conditions,two ore-prospecting targets have been delineated, of which target BQ-1 is for Pb-Zn-Sn mineralization and target BQ-2 is for Ag mineralization.
