Through the variation regulation of migration characteristics when the sulfate ions in groundwater passed aquitard and its environmental effects��the authors analyzed the changes of sulfate ions concentration under different thickness of cohesive soil and the characteristics affected by pH��Eh and calcium concentration��and the concentration variation of sulfate irons in different pH values�� It is concluded that the penetration ability of sulfate ions passing aquitard in groundwater was strong by means of soil column filling and leaching method��which revealed that the sulfate ion concentration increased with the increasing of the thickness of soil��and decreased with the increasing of pH value in leachate��
