Abstract

In order to explore the deep underground minerals in the Jinchuan mining area in Gansu Province, the authors use the Z component of continuous seismic ambient noise data from a total of 65 fixed stations in the Jinchuan mining area and surroundings. Three-dimensional S-wave velocity structure from 0. 9 km to 5. 4 km underground in the Jinchuan mining area and surroundings has been obtained by the direct inversion method of surface wave dispersion based on ray tracing. The inversion result map, along with the geophysical characteristics ( i.e.,gravity and aeromagnetic anomalies) in the Jinchuan mining area and surroundings, shows that the shallow 1. 8 km underground of the Jinchuan mining area is characterized by high speed; and in the deep 2. 7 km underground,it is characterized by low speed up to 5. 4 km; at depths of 4. 5 ~ 5. 4 km,there are obvious speed differences on both sides of the F1 fault. The tidal basin shows a low speed anomaly, while the Longshoushan uplift has a high speed anomaly. The occurrence of speed anomaly is closely related to the F1 fault. The formation of the deep low-velocity zone is closely related to the upwelling of mantle-derived magmas.
