Abstract

The authors discussed the organic geochemical characteristics and metallogenic conditions of oil shale of Lower Cretaceous Bayingebi Formation in Yin'e Basin based on TOC,S,rock pyrolysis and biomarkers analysis. The results show that the abundance of organic matter is high, the kerogen contains type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ1 .N-alkanes show unimodal distributions with nC27 or nC31 as main peaks. Steroids mainly consist of regular steranes with C27 - C28 - C29 distributed in inverse“L”shape, while the abundance of rearranged steranes is relatively low.In terpenoids, pentacyclic triterpanes, predominantly C30 hopane are the most abundant, followed by tricyclic terpane, and minor gammacerane and oleanane. The Tmax of samples in the study area is 432℃ ~ 439℃,CPI and OEP are high, while steranes C29ααα20S / ( 20S + 20R) ,hopanes Ts / ( Ts + Tm) and C3122S / ( 22S + 22R) are low, indicating that the organic matter of oil shale of Bayingebi Formation is in the immature or low mature stage. N-alkanes ΣC21 - /ΣC22 + ( 0. 20 ~ 0. 29) are low, regular steranes Σ ( C27 + C28 ) /ΣC29 ( 0. 83 ~1. 15) are around 1,together with highly abundant hopanes ( C27 - 35 ) in terpenoids, medium abundant tricyclic terpane and low abundant gammacerane and oleanane,it is suggested that the organic matter in oil shale was from a mixed source of lower aquatic organisms such as bacteria and algae, plankton and terrestrial plants. S /TOC ( 0. 01 ~0. 19) ,gammacerane index ( 0. 11 ~ 0. 37) ,Pr /Ph ( 0. 30 ~ 0. 62) ,low abundant rearranged steranes indicate that the oil shale of Bayingebi Formation formed in fresh-brackish water and reductive environment. Under the condition of fresh-brackish water, the bottom water reduction environment caused by salinity stratification is favorable for the mineralization of oil shale of the second Member of Bayingebi Formation in Yin'e Basin.
