Geochemical characteristics of stream sediments in Huoshaotan--Houyaozi area of Youyu County,Shanxi Province and their prospecting application effect

Abstract

In order to identify regional geochemical anomalies in the study area,narrow the prospecting targets and explore primary gold deposits furtherly,1∶ 50 000 encrypted measurement of stream sediment was carried out in Huoshaotan--Houyaozi area,and 43. 89 km2 was completed. Through this work,58 single element anomalies, 13 comprehensive anomalies and 16 gold anomalies were identified. By verifying the main gold anomalies such as Au8,Au5 and Au9 in the study area,two important gold ( mineralized) belts,Huoshaotan and Houyaozi were found. Furthermore,9 gold ( mineralized) bodies have been identified through the geological exploration of gold deposits in the mining area,and the amount of gold mineral resources submitted has reached medium-sized scale,which realizes a new breakthrough in geological prospecting in the region in the past decade.
