 Properties of gravel soil and calculation of surface deformation of a reclamation site in Dalian

Abstract

 A reclamation site in Dalian is taken as the study area and the surface deformation of this area is

calculated and studied. The geological data from borehole and the parameters of physical and mechanical properties of soil layer are collected,the parameters of properties of gravel soil are obtained by laboratory test. The three-dimensional geological model of the site is established by using MIDAS GTS NX,and the deformation of the site is analyzed by applying preset load combined with FLAC3D,and the surface deformation is calculated by standard
method. The results show that the calculated results are close to the numerical simulation results,and the maximum deformation is close to 100 mm,which meets site subsidence control standards after construction.
