Abstract

Based on the existing regional engineering geological survey data and according to the current national standard identification method of liquefaction in China, the liquefaction situation of the saturated sand layer, silty sand layer and silty soil layer at 20 m below the surface is checked and identified in order to find out the liquefaction

situation in some areas of Anqing. The project covers the Yixiu District,Yingjiang District,Daguan District and Huaining County of Anqing, with a total area of 820 square kilometers. The results show that 10 out of 27 engineering
boreholes are identified as being liquefied, and 14 out of 15 static cone penetration boreholes are liquefied. In practical engineering projects, the liquefaction and subsidence of foundation caused by sand liquefaction should be treated properly.
