Abstract

Based on the data of organic carbon and total carbon in the surface and deep soil obtained from the multi-target regional geochemical survey of Wenzhou in Zhejiang, the“unit soil inorganic carbon amount”and its densities in the surface soil layer (0~0.2 m), middle soil layer (0~1.0 m) and deep soil layer (0~2 m) were calculated by linear model. The“unit soil organic carbon amount”and its densities were obtained in surface soil layer (0~0.2 m), middle soil layer (0~1.0 m) and deep soil layer (0~2 m) by the exponential model. Furthermore, the density of inorganic carbon and organic carbon of surface, middle and deep soil layers were mapped, and their distribution ranges and characteristics were studied for different soil types. The results show that the“unit soil inorganic carbon amount”in study area is 2 881.333 t and the average density is 0.720 kg/m2, while the “unit soil organic carbon amount”is 43 128.667 t and the average density is 10.782 kg/m2. The distribution of organic carbon and inorganic carbon in surface, middle and deep soil layers shows the same trend. Simultaneously, inorganic and organic carbon storage in different soil types also shows the same features, i.e., the highest value is in the littoral rock soil and the lowest value is in the coarse bone soil.
