Abstract

To evaluate the hydrocarbon generation potential of the high and over matured source rocks, and promote oil and gas exploration effectively in Lishu fault depression, Songliao Basin, the samples of low mature hydrocarbon source rocks from Shuanglong sub-depression in Lishu fault depression are collected according to the characteristics of source rocks. Then high temperature and pressure simulation experiments on the formation porosity are carried out, the organic carbon restoration coefficient curve and hydrocarbon yield of high and over matured source rocks are established, and the spatial distribution and hydrocarbon generation potential of high quality source rocks in different layers of Lishu fault depression are implemented. The results show that the organic carbon restoration coefficients of high and over matured source rocks in Lishu fault depression range from 1.4 to 2.4, the total carbon yield ranges from 320 to 500 mg/g.TOC. Total hydrocarbon generated is 33 821×106 t (oil equivalent). Sha-2 Member is the most important hydrocarbon generation layer. The major hydrocarbon generation areas are the central depression belt of Lishu fault depression and the adjacent areas, including Bawu-Shiwu, eastern slope, northern slope and southern Xiaokuan area.
