Abstract

The northern Songliao Basin has excellent exploration potential for sandstone-type uranium deposits. In order to quickly delineate favorable exploration areas, the spatial-temporal distribution of basic metallogenic conditions such as uranium source, structure, sedimentation, hydrodynamic, paleoclimate and reduction body are comprehensively analyzed using high gamma radioactivity anomalies in radioactivity logging data of oil and gas boreholes, together with geological and seismic data of oilfields. The structural inversion forms denudation skylights, resulting in locally developed paleo-interlayer oxidation zones. Oxygen-bearing water flows in the grey-green strata, which promotes the migration and enrichment of uranium that precipitates near the front of the oxidation zone, forming sandstone-type uranium deposits. Sandstone in the upper part of Sifangtai Formation and Nenjiang Formation is the key horizon for sandstone-type uranium deposits in interlayer oxidation zone. The western slope area, Daqing placantic line and surrounding areas, and Chaochang area are favorable areas for uranium exploration.
