Abstract

The feasibility of applying high density resistivity method to frozen soil monitoring was verified by establishing a forward frozen soil model. The device for high density resistivity method was specially modified and applied in the monitoring of seasonal frozen soil for seven months. The results show that the high density resistivity method is feasible in the seasonal frozen soil monitoring. The resistivity inversion profiles can be obtained by the inversion processing of measured data, and the obvious freezing, thawing of surface soil can be seen in the seasonal variation. Moreover, the frozen depth range in winter can be estimated.
