Abstract

The geological, geophysical and geochemical information were extracted to evaluate the prospecting potential of the Taolaituo molybdenum polymetallic prospecting area in Inner Mongolia. The results show that the Taolaituo molybdenum polymetallic district was dominated by porphyry molybdenum mineralization, and the porphyry molybdenum deposits and numerous polymetallic vein type Pb-Zn-Ag mineralization points have been discovered. The ore-forming rock mass is Early Cretaceous granite porphyry, and the ore-controlling structure is NE-NNE-trending fault. The molybdenum mineralization zone is well correlated with ring induced polarization and annular magnetic anomalies, which shows that the anomaly of medium-low apparent polarization is the characteristic of anomaly caused by ore mineralization. 1:500 00 geochemical anomalies have zonation characteristics of Mo-WAg-Pb-Zn from the molybdenum mineralization zone to lead-zinc-silver mineralization zone. Based on the comprehensive prospecting information extraction and the establishment of porphyry type metallogenic series,it is concluded that it has a good prospecting potential of molybdenum deposits in this area, and it is also predicted that the north-west side of molybdenum deposits is the favorable location of the polymetallic vein type Pb-Zn-Ag.
