Abstract

The reef reservoir in Meishan Formation from Well Xike 1 in Xisha islands has been systematically analysed and evaluated based on core observation and thin section authentication esults show that the mineral composition of reservoir rocks are calcite and dolomite The rock fabrics include skeletondetrital grainsmatrix and cement The rocks are dolomitelimy dolomitegrainstonepackestone and floatstone in type The main reservoir spaces include intergranular poresintragranular poresintracrystalline poresvugular poresmoldic poresintragranular dissoved pores and fracture pores The dolomite reservoir is of good physical properties while the grainstone reservoir is poor The studied area is predominately comprised of high porosity and high permeability reservoirsecondly medium porosity and medium permeability reservoirand a small amount of reservoir with low porosity and low permeability
