Abstract

Previouslythe stratigraphic unit of clastic and carbonate rocks overlying the Xiong'er Group had been divided into the Gaoshanhe Group and the Longjiayuan Formation of Guandaokou Group Through the profiling and regional correlationthe authors found that the unit actually consists of the Yunmengshan- Luoyukou formations of uyang Group of Changcheng Systemthe Huanglianduo Formation of Jixian Systemand the Luoquan- Xinji- Zhushadong- Mantou formations of Cambrian System Meanwhile Gymnosolen and Cabbage type stromatolites have been found in the Huanglianduo Formationwhich can be compared with the stromatolites of Longjiayuan- Xunjiansi formations of Guandaokou Group The fact confirms that the Guandaokou Group and Huanglianduo Group belong to the same set of carbonate sediments in the southern margin of the North China Craton formed in the Jixianian Pe- riod
