Abstract

The Jiamusi-Yitong falut was the western branch of northern extension of Tan-Lu faultwhich con- trolled the distributions of many basins within Jia-Yi graben The authous found a ductile-brittle shear zone with trend of NNE in Shuiquliu of Shulan area Combining the microstructure studythe authors consider that the shear zone was consisted of protomylonite-mylonite and displayed sinistral strike-slip shear characteristics With the meas- urement of finite-strain determination (Fry measurement)the strain type of the study area was considered to be ex- tension strain EBSD (electron back scatter diffraction) measurement also indicated the study area had undergone asinistral strike-slip shear zone and quartz fabrics were mainly low-middle temperature prism-glide fabrics with slip system of {0001} 110 To sum upShuiquliu shear zone had experienced a sinistral strike-slip shearing in middle-late Early Cretaceouswhich was related to moving direction changing from NWW to NNW of the western Pacific Izanagi plate obliquely subducting under the Eurasia plate
