Abstract

Nanhu--Sangjiawopu Fault is a buried active fault striking in northwest and crossing Changchun City It is very important to the crust stability of Changchun district Based on the data of high-resolution remote sensing information interpretationground penetrating radar probingshallow seismic investigation and exploration of composite drilling section and the data of ESR dating for Quaternary depositswe discuss the spacial distribution and active characteristics of Nanhu--Sangjiawopu Fault Nanhu-Sangjiawopu Fault is with a straight fault trace extends along LujiawopuHousanjiaziNanhu parkChangchun parkSangjiawopu and Dahelong Its occurrence is 45° ∠65° At Dahelong village in the northwest segment of the faultit displaced the strata of Upper Cretaceous Nenjiang Formation leaving a eroded gully along the fault trace at the top of the Nenjiang Formation but displaced the strata of Early and Middle Pleistocene Near Lujiawopu in the southeast segment of the faultit displaced the strata of Cretaceous Quantou Formation but displaced the strata of Middle and Late Pleistocene Nanhu-Sangjiawopu Fault was formed in the end of Mesozoic and became active as a left-lateral slip fault in Early Quaternary It has not acted since Middle Pleistocene
