Abstract

The well drilling revealed that the second member of Jialingjiang Formation and the third member of Feixianguan Formation in Lower Triassic were the main gas-producing zones in HCL area where is a good in exploration and development prospect through former researches The favorable gas-bearing distribution prediction was the key for better exploration achievement The authors proposed a method using seismic high-low frequency information to predict hydrocarbonwhich applied time-frequency analysis based on wavelet transform to predict hydrocarbon by extracting seismic high frequency information and low frequency information aiming at the phenomenon of high frequency enegy attenuation and low frequency enegy enhancement This method had good coincidence in hydrocarbon prediction and well logging in HCL exploration area
