A Middle Jurassic flora from the Shaerhu coal field of eastern XinjiangChina is reported for the first time The flora consists of 27 species of 17 genera in magafossils and 50 species of 35 genera of palynofossils at leastand is predominated by fernsbennettitalescycadoales and ginkgoalesaged probably in the early Middle Jurassic Based on the geological and paleontological analysesthe flora was probably living in the area where spread by lake-swamps and under warm and humid climates with seasonal changes during the early Middle Jurassic
