Abstract

In order to investigate the Quaternary sedimentary environment of Mount Taithe authors collected Quaternary sediment samples at the south slope of Mount Tai using the analysis method of quartz sand surface characteristicsAfter laboratory processingW I-W6 quartz sand particles have been randomly selected to observe under scanning electron microscopy(SEM)Except W4other particles showed the characteristics of irregular form clear edgesvarious conehoidal fractures and cleavage fractureswhich indicated the glacial deposit environmental conditionThermoluminescent age of sediment sample was 30.54±2.59 ka B.P., which equaled to the main glacial ice age of the last glaciation
