Abstract

The Jinghua Caves are exposed in thick limestone of Middle Ordovician Majiagou Formation in Benxi of Liaoningwhich controlled mainly by near SN and NE faultsand compose of four-layer caves with different levels along near SN faultThe sediments in the caves are dominated by chemical deposition with scarce me- chanic~depositionBy measuring the temperaturehumidity and CO2 contents inside and outside the cavesthe analysis shows that the closeness of the caves is good and the air circulation with the outside is poorBased on the comparative study of elevation and formation age with the terrace of Ganhethe authors estimate that the main cave of Jinghua Caves originated in Late Pleistocene combined with the U—dating of the samples(111.5±5.3 ka).
