Abstract

The Mesozoic strata of the continental margin in South China are widely exposed in Guangdongincluding continental clastic sedimentary rocks mainlyand volcanic rocks partly The Upper Triassic--Upper Cretaceous can be divided into 2 mega-sequences7 supper-sequences and 15 sequencesshowing a process of transgression- regression during the sedimentary environment changed from marine to terrestrial The sea level change of the three grades controlled the development of sequencessupper-sequences and mega-sequences The Mesozoic --sequence developed in central and eastern Guangdong can be concluded for 3 typesincluding shallow water deep water and lacustrine basin typesand the shallow water type can be divided into types and further
