Abstract

Wenquan porphyry molybdenum deposit of West Qinling is located in northwestern Caledonian fold belt of North Qinling. The identification of polished section and slidesX--diffraction analysischemical total analysis of rocks and minerals and REE analysis show that molybdenitepyrite and chalcopyrite mineralizations in quartz vein are the main types of mineralization in the deposit; while silicificationlaumontite and red argillation are the main types of wall-rock alteration. According to the characteristics of deposit geologywall-rock alteration and geochemistry the wall-rock alteration can be divided into three zonesincluding brick red zeolitization ( grade) strong silification (grade) and weak silification (grade)in which the gradeand zones are the main indicators for prospecting.
