Abstract

In order to determine hydrocarbon distribution characteristics and rules between areas above source and slope areas outside source, the differences about oil and gas transportation by fault?sandbody configuration of two areas were studied by analysis of relationship between hydrocarbon distribution and transportation forms by fault? sandbody configuration, which is based on hydrocarbon accumulation model and transportation channel of two areas in Songliao and Bohai Bay Basin. The results show that there are three aspects about differences of oil and gas transportation by fault?sandbody configuration. The first difference is migration direction. The direction of hydrocar? bon migration by fault?sandbody configuration in the areas above source is from vertical to lateral. The vertical di? rection is dominant. In the slope areas outside source, the direction is lateral and fault only plays a side connection role. The second difference is profile form of oil and gas transportation by fault?sandbody configuration. There are two main forms of oil and gas transportation by fault?sandbody configuration in profile in the areas above the source, which are toothbrush and branch shape. The slope areas outside source also has two transportation forms in profile, which are stair shape in the same layer and cross?layer. The third difference is plane form of oil and gas transporta? tion by fault?sandbody configuration. The form of oil and gas transportation by fault?sandbody configuration on the plane in the areas above source is linear from fault, however it is linear cutting fault in slope areas outside source.
