 Application of combined gravity, magnetic, and electrical measurements in exploration of hidden kimberlites in Wafangdian area, Liaoning Province

Abstract

 In order to confirm the existence of a nappe structure that damages the kimberlites in the Wafangdi? an area of Liaoning Province and possible buried part of No. 50 kimberlite pipe, the authors have adopted three?di? mensional geological survey, geophysical exploration and drilling. The results show that the combined gravity, mag? netic, and electrical measurements are effective, and based on this, the No.50??1 kimberlite body that is believed to be the dislocated part of the No. 50 pipe has been found.
