Joint inversion of 3D resistivity  and gravity  method based on structural constraint

Abstract

The resistivity and gravity method sare considered as two critica1approachesin geophysica1exp1ora- tion.In ordertomaximizetheadvantagesofeach method and reducetheissuesofmu1tip1eso1utionsin thesing1e method ofinversion, ajointinversion a1gorithmofgravityand resistivitymethodsbased on cross-gradientconstraints isapp1ied in thisthesis.Fortheinversion, cross-gradientconstraintsareinc1uded  in  thejointinversion  objective function in pena1tyterms.Theobjectivefunction  isso1ved  numerica11ybyGaussian  Newton'smethod.Themode1 tria1resu1tsindicatethatthejointinversion  providesamorestructura11ysimi1armode1than  theindividua1inver- sions.Theresistivitymode1isconsidered tobemoreeffectivein constrainingthedensitymode11ongitudina11y.The 1ongitudina1reso1ution ofthedensitymode1improved  significant1y, whi1ethejointinversion  cou1d  captureamore accuratespatia1structuredistribution of the abnorma1body.
