Application of depth-domain waveform indication inversion in thin reservoir prediction:a case study of Shan-18 block in Sulige gas field

Abstract

Duetothelimitationofseismicresolution,traditionaltimedomaininversionmethodsaredifficult toaccuratelypredict3Dspatialdistributionofthinreservoirs,whichgreatlyrestrictsthedeploymentofhighefficiencyhorizontalwellgroupsinthistypeofreservoir.Toachieveaccuratepredictionofsuchthinreservoirs,the keyliesinhowtocombinewellsandseismics,broadenthefrequencyband,andobtainreasonablehighfrequency components.Bycomparingandanalyzingthecurrentmainstreaminversionmethods,itisproposedthatthedepthdomainseismicwaveform indicationinversionmethodcanaccuratelyidentifytheterrestrialthinsandstonereservoirs.ThispapertakesthethininterbeddedsandstonedevelopedinbraidedriverdeltafaciesofShan18blockin thesoutheasternpartofSuligeasanexample.Onthebasisofensuringthematchingofdrillinggeologicalstratificationwithdepthdomainseismicinterpretationhorizons,thenumberofeffectivesamplesandthemaximumoptimal cutofffrequencyweredetermined,andtheerroranalysiswerefurtherconducted.Onthisbasis,thedepthdomain seismicwaveformindicationinversiontechnologyisusedtocarryoutreservoirpredictionresearchonthethininterbeddedsandstonegasreservoirsinthestudyarea.Theresearchresultsshowthat①thougheffectivelyavoidingthe lossanderroraccumulationofhighfrequencyinformationduringtheconversionofloggingcurvesfromthedepthdomaintothetimedomain,theidentificationaccuracyofthinreservoirsiseffectivelyimproved;②thethicknessof thethinlayerpredictedbytheseismicwaveformindicationinversionwithaerrorof5~6m,thepredictioneffectis good,thequantitativecharacterizationofthinsandstonereservoirshasbeenrealized,andareliabledatafoundation hasbeenlaidforthedeploymentofhorizontalwellgroups.Thismethodcanmakefulluseofthelateralchangeinformationofthedepthdomainseismicwaveform,andthehighfrequencystructureiscontrolledbythewaveform change,whichbetterreflectstheconstraintsofthedepositionalenvironment.Whileimprovingtheverticalresolution,itslateralpredictabilityisalsoeffectivelyguaranteed.
