Zircon U-Pb age,geochemical characteristics and formation setting of felsite in Zhilingtou area,Zhejiang Provinc

Abstract

AsystematiczirconLA-ICP-MSU-Pbdatingandwholerockgeochemicalanalysiswerecarried outforthefelsiteinZhilingtouarea,ZhejiangProvince,andthetectonicevolutionofSouthChinaintheLateCretaceouswasdiscussed.Thedatingresultsshowthattheintrusiveageofthefelsiteis(9831±092)Ma,which istheproductofYanshanianmagmaticevent.Therocksbelongtohighpotassium,calcalkaline,metaluminous series,andarerichinSiO2 (6817% ~7290%),Al2O3 (1358% ~1607%) andK2O (475% ~534%),butpoorinFe2O3 (117% ~137%),MgO (015% ~022%)andCaO (103% ~162%).The REEdistributioncurveisrightinclinedwithobviouslynegativeEuanomalies.Theirω (ΣREE) =(20657~22254) ×10-6,LREE/HREE=1817~1910,(La/Yb)N =2356~2549,andδEu=061~065.Rb,Th,UandKarerelativelyenriched,whileNb,Ta,P,ZrandHfarerelativelydepleted.Thetraceelementdistributionpatternsshow theenrichmentoflargeionlithophileelements(LILEs)andlightrareearthelements (LREEs),butdepletionofhighfieldstrengthelements(HFSEs)andheavyrareearthelements(HREEs),which aresimilartothecharacteristicsofItypegranites.Combinedwiththepetrogenesis,tectonicenvironmentdiscriminationandregionaltectonicevolutionprocesses,theformationofthefelsiteinZhilingtouareaiscloselyrelatedto thesubductionofthePaleoPacificOcean.TheareawasdominatedbythesubductionofthePaleoPacificplate fromtheLateJurassictoearlyLateCretaceous,combinedwiththeextensionalstructureofthesameperiod,accompaniedbyalargenumberofbasalticmagmaunderplatingandupwelling,resultinginthegenerationofalargenumberofgraniticmagma,andwiththegradualparticipationofmantlecomponents,felsiteinthisareawasformed.
