Petrogenesis of Early Mesoproterozoic syenogranitic porphyry in Miyun area,North China

Abstract

TheformationoftheMiyunrapakivigranitemarksthebeginningoftheEarlyMesoproterozoicextensionprocessinMiyunarea.Torevealitsextensionprocess,asyenograniticporphyryinMiyunwasselectedand LAICPMSmethodwasconductedforzirconUPbdatingandtraceelementsinvestigation.ZirconUPbdating resultsshowthatthecrystallizationageofsyenograniticporphyryis(1666±17)Ma,whichwasproducedbythe EarlyMesoproterozoicmagmatism.ZircontraceelementsarecharacterizedbyLREEdepletion,HREEenrichment,obviouspositiveCeanomalyandnegativeEuanomaly,whichisconsistentwithmagmaticzirconcharacteristics.It suggeststhatplagioclasefractionationandcrystallizationduringitsformation.Combinedwithpreviousstudies,the authorssuggestthatthesyenograniticporphyrywasformedinanextensionalsetting.TheEarlyMesoproterozoicextensionprocessintheNorthChinaCratonofMiyunarealastedforatleast1666Ma
