Based on geochemical survey of soil and irrigation water at 1�� 50000 scale��the land quality in Zaoqiang was evaluated by the method of geochemical assessment�� The results show that the soil nutrient is rela- tively insufficient��especially N��Org�� C��available Mo and S�� The environmental quality of soil in most studied area was clean��which accounts for 99. 66% of the total assessment area�� The quality of the irrigation water is good�� The heavy metal content in irrigation water was in the range of the standards for irrigation water quality��but fluoride and pH in some sampling points exceed the standards��
