Abstract:

Fractured reservoir prediction is the emphasis and difficulty of current oil and gas explorationand the key of the prediction is detection of fractured zones Based on the attenuation coefficient of qp-qsh- and qsv wavesthe authors study the detection of fractured zonesincluding the effects of fracture densityincident angle and frequency to the attenuation coefficient of the three kinds of waves through numerical calculation using Hudson theoretical model The test of theoretical model indicates that the frequency and fracture density are the major parameteres which affect the attenuation coefficientand the attenuation coefficient represents prodigious difference when the fillings of fractures are differentwhich provides a theoretical basis for the detection of fractured zones using attenuation property of qp waveqsh wave and qsv wave
