Abstract:

Based on wave theoryseismic field can be divided into incident wave field and scattered wave field. The incident wave field can be related with the scattered wave field through wave impedance difference function on appropriate assumptions. The scattered wave field in seismic data can be forecasted by using wave impedance difference function so as to reach the intention to eliminate scattered noise. Through the forward modeling and application of field datathis method shows the priority on attenuating near--surface scattered noise.

Keywords: scattered wavefield   wave impedance difference function   noise attenuation   signal--to--noise ratio
