Characteristics and hydrocarbon potential of the fault basins in western Songliao Basin —a case study of Dayangshu Basin

Abstract:

The comparison of Dayangshu Basin with Songliao Basin and its other western basins shows that they have similar filling sequence and tectonic evolution history, which indicates all these small basins may be the parts of Songliao Basin. A certain scale oilfield has been found in Lujiabao depression, and favorable hydrocarbon source rocks were found in deep part of the Dayangshu Basin. The fact shows that these basins along with the western edge of the Songliao Basin have better hydrocarbon potential, and the Dayangshu Basin is one of the best petroleum foreground areas.
