Technique for extraction and concentration of rare earth elements in gangue

Abstract:

Gangue samples have been macerated in hydrochloride acid, and the rare earth elements (REE) , Fe, Al and Ti were dissolved selectively. After that the rare earth elements are separated by coprecipitation method of ferric hydroxide, and then they are quantitatively separated with iron by precipitation process of oxalate. The results of experiment show that the extraction ratio of the rare earth elements is 88.25%��92.86%, and the purity of rare earth oxide is 99.00%. The method is characterized by its simp le application and high enrichment ratio.
